I like several things about this verse.
"My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest."
(Is 32:18, NIV)
Sounds like a promise to me!
Look at all the wonderful words: peaceful
secure
undisturbed
rest
Love it.
Last night we were invited for dinner in our son and daughter-in-law’s “new” home. It’s an older home that they have made their own, and it is a good example of this verse. Their home is a beautiful little cottage, but the “feeling” there is not about the external description.
Sometimes we wrongly think “new” and “fancy” and “the latest” is what defines a home. When you read this promise in Isaiah, it makes no mention of external or physical descriptions. It promises peaceful dwelling places, security, and undisturbed places of rest.
Yep, this verse that I am reading this morning specifically calls to mind their cottage.
peaceful
secure
undisturbed
rest
It can’t get any better than that!

Thank you so much for pointing out, that we need to remember to be thankful that we even have a roof over our heads! Whether you own or rent, wash dishes by hand or have a dishwasher, etc.
Just knowing that we have a place to call home, that makes us feel safe and secure, is a gift from God!
We take so much for granted...
Thank you, Nancy. We really do take so much for granted. I say to myself, "Stop it." But I keep doing it!
