Kraft Resist Technique-Nicaragua Scrapbook Page

Nica SB Layout w border

For this scrapbook page, I used the Kraft Resist Technique featured on page 41 of Tim Holtz’s Compendium of Curiosities Volume 2. This technique is the focus of  Linda’s Studio L3 Studio challenge this week.

Our son and his two teenagers recently returned from a mission trip to Nicaragua. I printed out a few of his photos and created a two-page layout, this page being the left side. I thought it was interesting that the basic Kraft color is the exact color of the dirt in Nicaragua!

Scrapbooking is my first crafting love, and I work on my scrapbooks continually. I rarely post pictures of those projects, as they are not as easy to photograph and are usually not “share-worthy” (that is, they are just the way I want to do them, and not exemplary of the latest trends).

I am also entering this project in Hels Sheridan’s Sunday Stamper challenge this week.

  4. Thank you, Stephanie. Actually, this was granddaughter Tory's second year to make a trip to this village. Tory plans to be a missionary, and her brother Conner plans to follow God's call into pastoral ministry. Their dad is our pastor. It was a fantastic trip for all of them!

  9. I like that- your pages are just the way you want to do them. not just about the trends... (although I can see that little paper curled on the left :) ) The black letters help the title to pop and the picture is soooo wonderful- what a wonderful opportunity for you son and grandsons, especially in their teen years. (can you tell I have two teen boys as well, lol?)

  10. Thanks, Laura. Although I didn't specify, our son's two teens are a girl and a boy: 19-year-old Tory and 17-year-old Conner. But, I'm glad you felt the "common bond" anyway!! Thanks for commenting!
