My word for the New Year is TRUST. On this, the 4th day of the new year, I’m confessing that I’m not doing all that great in the area of trust. I know that, because it is impossible to trust and worry at the same time. I guess that’s why it needs to be my word for the year.
What wonderful promises for those who trust in Him: hope, joy and peace.
I created the page with a tissue paper background, adhered to the journal page with Glue ‘n’ Seal. I then applied three Distress Stains (Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers and Squeezed Lemonade). I toned down the intensity by using a white paint with a wet brush, all over the pages. I stamped with some of my favorite background stamps and used my new Dina Wakley grungy silhouette stamp to represent myself on the right-hand page (stamped it on book text). I used watercolor crayons around the images and the text. I smudged some white paint around the edges of the pages.

Barb, your journal page is lovely. And...I think there are alot of us who fall short in the "trust" department! I love your sentiment you've incorporated into your art journal. It is very inspiring and I thank you for that as well as joining us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy

Thanks for joining in the Anything but a Card anything goes challenge this week! This art journal is wonderful and that is a great word to pick for the year!
Your art journal page is beautiful and inspiring! Trust was my word last year. I started off with great intention but fizzled. Although looking back on 2012, I do believe I grew in the area of trusting in the Lord. I thought I would share my trust project from last year with you. http://faithfullyyours.net/Blog/my-word-revisited/
